Meghan has been working in libraries and archives for over 9 years most recently as Librarian/Archivist at Historic New England in Boston, MA and Assistant Archivist of Technical Services at the American Institute of Physics in College Park, MD.   Meghan also serves as the list coordinator of the Archives and Archivists List-serv administered by the Society of American Archivists and is the current Secretary of the Simmons GSLIS Alumni Board.   She received her B.A. in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts in 2005, a Master’s Certificate in Medieval Latin from the University of Toronto, and her M.L.I.S. with an archives concentration from Simmons in 2007.  Meghan spends her free time chasing after her two kids and attempting to bake bread.

Public Libraries

Amanda Chiplock, Director, Watervliet (NY) Public Library

Amanda is a graduate of GSLIS West '08 and has been Director since June, 2009. Her library is about 5 minutes from Albany.  Although it is a mid-sized suburban public library serving 2 counties, there is a very small budget and small staff. Which means that Amanda gets to do a lot of everything including: reference, circulation, cataloging, adult services, youth services, marketing & community outreach, programming, IT, grant writing, and daily operations.  She says she's never bored!
